A few important things to note::
4
5
1) Much of the information has been gathered from school district websites, supplemented by calls to some schools for additional information. As we all know, due to the pandemic, almost everything is subject to change! We will work to keep the infomation updated at least on a monthly basis and will indicate the most recent update highlighted in yellow on this overview sheet.

2) Just as there are many learning models right now (100% virtual; hybrid; some grades in-person, while others remain online . . .), you'll see that schools have different approaches to meals distribution as well. Some schools have opted to use the traditional National School Lunch Program (NSLP), while others have opted to utilize the waivers that were granted by USDA to summer meal programs (SFSP and SSO) that allow for more flexibility. The decision on what program to use is up to the schools.

3) For instance, school districts that have opted to stay under the NSLP are limited to serving students enrolled in their schools who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals that are enrolled in their schools, whereas school districts that are utlizing the summer meals programs can serve all children under age 18. A family can apply for free and reduced-price meals at any point during the year. The last tab below labeled "Free and Reduced-price Eligibility Limits" provides the income limits for the program.

4) In addition, school districts have different schedules for meal distribution. Some provide 5 "grab and go" meals at a distribution once a week; others distribute the grab and go meals a few days a week; and a few even do daily distributions.

5) Lastly, for school districts where we have indicated: "Relies on Individual Application/Order- See Source Link," scroll to column I to the link provided to find out more on that school district's website, as well as find out how to apply for free and reduced-price meals. These are schools using NSLP.
