In this workshop, we will review the principles of plain language and apply them to a specific type of document: forms. Forms are often the first entry point into a program, but they are often overly complicated and hard to understand while asking for very personal information. We’ll review strategies for making forms easier to understand, more inclusive, and trauma-informed. We’ll also review basic design principles and basic tools for different types of forms. Come with a form you would like to discuss and be ready for small group conversations.
Brought in partnership with Melanie Sampson of the Clear Language Lab at Literacy Works.
Registration: $20 for members, $30 for non-members
