Generation Ocean: Join the race to protect our incredible blue planet is an engaging secondary school learning programme created by The Ocean Race. The resources introduce young people to the incredible role that the ocean plays in sustaining all life on Earth and highlights the threats that are jeopardising this vital system, along with the solutions that are needed to protect our blue planet.

Suitable for learners 12 years and over, the free resources can be used in school, for at home learning or within the community.

The programme features:

• An eye-catching booklet with engaging articles, stories, reflections and action points
• An educator’s guide with suggested lesson activities and tips and advice on how to lead learners through the development of projects

The programme is cross-curricular, and can be used across subject areas to increase ocean literacy. Lesson activities also feature Social and Emotional Learning techniques (SEL) to help encourage and empower young people to take positive action for the ocean.
