About Us

Rising Child Foundation (RCF) is a registered women-led non-governmental organization in Nigeria that centers its efforts on Education and Empowerment as catalysts for transformative change in the lives of the most vulnerable children, with a special focus on girls and young women. Our unwavering commitment is rooted in the belief that education and empowerment are the cornerstones of sustainable development and that investing in human capital resources is key to unlocking the potential of marginalized communities.

Our Vision is to create a future where the lives of less-privileged and vulnerable children, especially girls, are positively transformed through education and empowerment. RCF firmly holds the conviction that by providing these individuals with opportunities, resources, and knowledge, we empower them to shape their own destinies, improve their prospects, and enhance their overall well-being.

At the heart of our approach lies a dedication to intergenerational leadership and collaboration. We take pride in fostering an environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and experiences across diverse programmatic areas. This ethos fuels collaboration and teamwork in the implementation of our projects. We prioritize the active inclusion of young people, women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other marginalized groups in our project design and execution, ensuring that their voices and needs are central to our initiatives.

Over the past three years, RCF has strategically invested in women-led community-based organizations, effectively empowering them as agents of change within their communities. Our advocacy efforts have played a pivotal role in advocating for the proper domestication of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (VAPP) in Nigeria. This advocacy has resulted in the empowerment of six women-led organizations across the north central region of Nigeria. The movement has further expanded to encompass a range of initiatives aimed at combating gender-based violence, such as the our Soro-Soke Vanguard. This multifaceted approach includes engaging radio programs, local community dialogues, and other innovative strategies that have contributed to strengthening gender laws and policies in Nigeria.
