The Virginia House of Delegates is voting on the Electric Vehicle Rebate Bill and the Advanced Clean Car Standards, both FACS priority legislation that will accelerate EV adoption.
Relay your personal support of Del. Reid’s electric vehicle (EV) rebate bill HB 1979. The bill would make EVs more affordable in Virginia and establishes an Electric Vehicle Rebate Advisory Council to oversee the Electric Vehicle Rebate Program and to make recommendations regarding its implementation. Negotiations are ongoing to designate funding. Please tell your delegate that you believe rebates are an important component to meet and exceed pent-up demand for EVs in the Commonwealth.
Also, ask your delegate to support the Advanced Clean Car Standards legislation (HB 1965) being patroned by Delegate Lamont Bagby. Provisions include:
Low-Emission Vehicle (LEV) Standards that encourage manufacturers to limit the emissions from the overall fleet of cars they sell, lowering air pollution and combatting the climate crisis.
Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Standards that encourage manufacturers to sell an increasing number of EVs, decreasing harmful emissions while increasing consumer choice.
Even though your delegate may not be considering these bills at this time, your support is important at this crucial juncture.
