Volunteer Backcountry Stewardship Week | Cottonwood Creek

July 5, 2022 - July 8, 2022

Join Friends of the Inyo and the White Mountain Ranger District of the Inyo National Forest for a spectacular three days of stewardship in the White Mountains Wilderness. We’ll be working to restore roads in Wilderness and removing obsolete cattle exclosures, and we’ll also save plenty of time for hiking, sharing stories, and enjoying a beautiful place.

Trip dates are July 5-8, 2022.

Space is limited—RSVP now to stewardship@friendsoftheinyo.org to ask questions or hold your spot!

Folks should be prepared for primitive car camping in a remote environment, supplying all their own equipment, and manual labor. Participants are responsible for all their own gear and food. Friends of the Inyo provides itinerary, expertise, and a one of a kind experience!

Significant resources go into these backcountry stewardship offerings, and as such, we hope you will consider becoming a member of Friends of the Inyo to support our programs like these. You can join or renew here today!

Please read about past projects on our Volunteer Wilderness Work Week page.

This Volunteer Wilderness Work Week and others are supported by a grant from the National Wilderness Stewardship Alliance’s Wilderness Stewardship Performance Grant.

All events on public lands are subject to approval by their respective land management agencies, and are not guaranteed in location, number of participants, or activity until permits are finalized.
