Celebrating Integration Annual Dinner Honors Community Members

At this year's Celebrating Integration awards dinner, the Board of Trustees of the Coalition on Race were pleased to honor Patricia Canning, George Robinson, and SOMA Cross Cultural Works for their commitment to racial integration in South Orange and Maplewood and the actions they take to achieve it. Patricia Canning has volunteered for the Schools Committee, runs the MLK Luminary Project, and recently led our first 1619 Observance. George Robinson is a founding member of the Community Coalition on Race, served as a BOE member, and worked on racial integration issues long before there was a Coalition. SOMA Cross Cultural Works works to educate our community about our rich cultural diversity through support of multicultural artistic and educational events.
