Project Soapbox is an initiative facilitated by Mikva Challenge that calls on young people to speak out on issues that affect them and their communities. Soapbox encourages youth to become active participants in the civic debate of their community, while fostering public speaking and critical thinking skills and building empathy for peers. These powerful speeches have lasting, transformative impacts.
Speaking out about an issue that matters to you is an important part of being an engaged and involved community leader. Thanks to you, our programs encourage youth to share their experiences and practice listening to different perspectives. From school quality to gun violence, we welcome you to be an ally and listen to what young people have to say on the issues that impact them most.
As one Mikva Challenge alumni explained,
“I didn’t think my voice mattered. Through Mikva, I learned that one person can make a difference.”
This is why we do the work we do.
Thank you for being a partner in supporting our next generation of civic leaders!
