The Environmental Integrity Project, Waterkeeper Alliance, and Center for Biological Diversity sent EPA a notice of intent to sue for its failure to issue national reports on water quality, which is a key requirement of the federal Clean Water Act. Although mandated by law, EPA’s last national water quality report was released in 2017.
Waterkeeper Alliance applauds the reinstatement of environmental review of financing of industrial animal agriculture facilities under Phase 2 regulations for the National Environmental Policy Act. This latest action from the White House Council on Environmental Quality reverses some of the worst impacts of the previous administration’s changes and ensures public voices are heard in the decision-making process.
Our latest Who Is Waterkeeper profiles Indian Riverkeeper Jim Moir. Previously serving as a board member for twenty years, Jim became the Riverkeeper in 2022. He works to protect Florida's Indian River Lagoon by engaging people in conversations and creating connections between our individual impacts on surrounding ecosystems and waterways.
