Trees and understory wildflowers respond differently to warmer springs under climate change, with negative impact to wildflowers. Invasives further this stress with their dense cover, leafing out earlier in spring and holding leaves later into fall. In this program, Mason Heberling will address the importance of changing seasonal timing and what this means for understory wildflowers. He’ll share how climate change, along with introduced invasive plants, are impacting ecological timing and interactions.
