Smash Cancer

May 17-19, 2024
Althea Gibson Tennis Center at Empie Park | 3405-A Park Avenue | Wilmington, NC

What We are Supporting

One of the main goals of Smash Cancer is to raise awareness for head and neck cancer. During the tournament, physicians and clinical staff will perform free screenings for head and neck cancer and provide educational materials to the public.

Our Impact

This year will be our 15th annual tournament and each year we grow in participation and in screenings provided. Thanks to our sponsors and participants we were able to donate over $150,000 to the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance to date.

These funds go directly to helping head and neck cancer patients get to and from treatments through HNCA's Gas Card Program.

Participate in the Tournament

Everyone is welcome to participate in the annual Smash Cancer Tournament and can register by clicking here. We also appreciate anyone interested in supporting our cause by becoming a sponsor.

Smash Cancer History

The Smash Cancer Tennis Tournament for head and neck cancer patients was established by the Howard family, in honor of their parents who both passed away from head and neck cancer. Read more about the story behind Smash Cancer here.
