As Trenton allocates billions of dollars to our recovery budget, we need to ensure they’re rescuing communities and workers, not bailing out corporations, and investing in a future safe from health, economic and climate catastrophe for us all.
We have an opportunity to invest our public dollars in the public good. We must raise revenue in an equitable manner to fund the programs that our workers and our communities need, including good, family sustaining jobs in the clean renewable energy sector and a fully serviced NJ Transit safe for workers and riders. We must ensure state agencies are staffed to do their jobs -- watching out for the health of our most vulnerable workers and communities at a time of crisis. We must also target precious relief funds to those hardest hit by the pandemic - Black and Latinx communities, poor communities, people with disabilities, transit, healthcare and other front-line workers. These investments will help us adapt to the new world we face, while securing a future where every single New Jerseyan can thrive.
Please join us in calling on our Governor and Legislature for a budget that invests in clean renewable energy, a sustainable, safe mass transit system and a pro-climate, pro-worker recovery for us all.
