Together Center's home for the last 30 years was falling apart and in urgent need of a major remodel.

Rehab and repair efforts enabled 30 yrs of service, with hundreds of thousands of lives impacted in that time.

In 1991, Friends of Youth, HealthPoint, Hopelink and Youth Eastside Services came together with an innovative idea: bring a group of nonprofits into the same space to combine and share resources, multiplying impact for the community. They purchased a former strip mall and Together Center (TC), the first nonprofit human services center in the nation, was launched.

Today TC is a unique and thriving model that benefits both clients seeking services and the dedicated nonprofits who serve them. The 22 nonprofit providers located at TC's site in downtown Redmond serve over 30,000 neighbors in need each year, with clients coming from all over the Greater Eastside and beyond.

By bringing together many diverse human services under one roof:                                                         - People have a one-stop shop to find the help they need                                                                       - Nonprofit providers collaborate for better client care and save vital resources

At a crossroads with our aging facility, we were compelled to do more. So much more.

As our region continues to boom, more and more families are being left behind as the housing crisis worsens – with both people and the vital nonprofits who serve them getting displaced.

The TC Board challenged itself to put our nonprofit-owned land to its highest and best use for the community for decades to come. As a small nonprofit with limited cash resources but a valuable land asset, we had to be highly creative and strategic. With that, an innovative partnership was born. TC partnered with Inland Group and Horizon Housing Alliance to build an integrated campus that includes both an expanded and enhanced nonprofit services hub and affordable housing.

Demolition of old facility
Demolition of the old facility in March 2021, shortly after Together Center's nonprofit provider were relocated to temporary spaces throughout downtown Redmond.

The old strip mall was demolished in March 2021 and on September 9, 2023 we celebrated the Grand Opening of the new Together Center campus, a national, first-of-its-kind human services model.

The transformed Together Center campus features a human services hub on the ground floor topped by 5 floors of affordable housing, just blocks from the Redmond Transit Center and Redmond Light Rail station set to open in 2025.
