Chef Loi Mediterranean tasting event

Join Chef Maria Loi and a dream team of chefs for a healthy Mediterranean tasting event held live from the Chef Maria Loi/Loukoumi Make A Difference Foundation Teaching Kitchen at The Floating Hospital. On March 6, from 4:00 – 5:00pm, the award-winning restaurateur and celebrated culinary pros will demonstrate and reveal the secrets of what’s widely considered the world’s healthiest diet. The in-person and virtual event includes a tasting backpack of gourmet and gift goodies. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Loukoumi Feeds The Hungry Program & Curriculum and The Floating Hospital teaching kitchen. Tickets here.

Save the date: Summer of Love benefit

After a two-year hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic, The Floating Hospital plans to bring back its summer soiree fundraiser. Themed “Summer of Love 2022,” the June 13 event will focus on the power of love to conquer all, including a pandemic. It also gives a nod to the love we have for the work we do: helping vulnerable New York city families get on a path of good health. The Floating Hospital is pleased to be included in the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation 2022 class of grantees. Mother Cabrini, like many of The Floating Hospital’s early patients, was a 19th-century immigrant, and later a nun who founded 67 missionary institutions to serve the sick and poor. Today, the eponymous foundation continues her legacy, meeting those needs throughout New York State. The Cabrini grant was applied toward supporting our Good Health Shuttle, which eliminates a barrier to healthcare by providing free, secure and dignified shelter-to-clinic transportation.
