Early Childhood Education Site Director

Location/s: Effingham

Description: Full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Duties include overseeing the ISBE Prevention Initiative Program and on-site activities, completing child screenings and enrollee applications, on-site supervision and support to staff, ensuring compliance with DCFS day care licensing standards, and management of the Child Care Assistance Program. Associate degree in child development or early childhood education or equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education, or early childhood special education) and Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential or 3 semester hours of college credit in administration, leadership, or management. Experience in licensed daycare center management is required.

Early Childhood Education Teacher

Location/s: Effingham

Description: Full-year position, 40 hrs./wk. Sixty semester hours from an accredited college/university with 6 semester hours in child care/development or 1 year of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits with 6 semester courses in child care/development or completion of a CDA (child development associate) credential. Must be at least 19 years of age.

Description: Full-year position, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with infants and toddlers preferred.

Outreach Housing Counselor

Location/s: Taylor Springs, IL

Description: This position is located in the Montgomery County Outreach Office in Taylor Springs, IL. Duties may include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of an individual’s goals and perspectives in becoming self-sufficient. The Counselor also assists in liaison work for the program with all persons, parties, and entities, both public and private as assigned. Duties will require local travel, training in rental and homeownership services, and home visits/inspections. The Housing Counselor also assists in the food pantry. This position will require HUD Certification within 6 months of hire. Associate degree and/or experience in social services preferred, high school diploma or equivalent is required. Benefits include health, dental, vision, flex time, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, 403(b) tax-deferred annuity plan, and a new hire incentive of up to $1,000. Housing Weatherization Assessor/Final Inspector

Location/s: Open to all service areas

Description: Full-time position with flexible 10-hour workdays and issuance of an agency vehicle. Responsibilities include performing initial home weatherization assessments and quality control final inspections, identifying and coordinating work orders and repairs, entering and tracking assessments and work from initiation to completion, etc. Paid training is provided to obtain the required certifications for the position. Associate degree in applied engineering, construction trades, or related field is preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform required duties may be considered in place of a degree; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must meet pre-employment requirements.

Description: School year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Description: School year position. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or be able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver's license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.

Bus Monitor

Location/s: Effingham Center

Description: School year position. 32 hours per week, Monday - Friday. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Family Advocate

Location/s: Pana/Taylorville, IL

Description: Full-time, full-year position, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. Associate's degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with at least three (3) years experience working with children and families.

Description: Full-time, full-year position, 40-hrs/wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent with competency in computerized data management and one year of computer experience required.

Public Transit Drivers

Location/s: Effingham, Fayette, Shelby, and Montgomery counties

Description: C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit is looking for Full-time, Part-time, and Substitute Drivers. No experience is needed, will train. Benefits for full-time drivers include health, dental, vision, personal time, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, a 403(b) annuity, and a $1000 sign-on bonus. Not interested in full-time, being a substitute might be right for you! Choose the assignments you wish to accept; all we ask is that you be willing to work at minimum 3 days per month. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. Transit Dispatcher/Driver - Full-Time

Location/s: Effingham

Description: C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit/Effingham Public Transportation is hiring a full-time
Dispatcher/Driver based in the Effingham office. The dispatch responsibilities will include scheduling
transportation requests, coordination/monitoring of daily routes, management of contract routes, vehicle and driver assignments, maintaining communications with driver and operations, validation of daily trip sheets, and ensuring accuracy of records. Driver responsibilities include serving the public transportation needs with care to ensure the safety of the customers and vehicles and provide exceptional customer service.


Dispatch hours are Monday through Friday with variable shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. as needed. Driving hours will vary based on need and location but will typically vary Monday – Friday between 5:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. with a minimum of two days a month in driver capacity. A generous
benefit package includes vacation time, sick time, flex time, paid holidays, health insurance, vision,
dental and a 403(b)-retirement plan.


Preferred candidates should possess strong computer skills, customer service aptitude, numerical and
analytical skills, ability to think creatively, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. High School
Diploma or equivalent is required, Associate’s preferred. Candidates must be willing to obtain a CDL
with passenger endorsement within the first year of employment with agency provided training.
