Asia Equities Reporter, Bloomberg News

Finally it's happening! A few weeks ago, I graduated from Northwestern University Medill School with a Master's degree in Journalism, with a specialization in Video and Broadcast. I also wrapped up my 10-week internship with NBC News's Biz, Tech and Innovation Unit. I am more than excited to share that I will be joining Bloomberg LP's Tokyo bureau as a Stocks Reporter from next week! It has been an amazing year as I decided to make a career change from strategy consulting to journalism, and to follow my passion in international reporting, biztech and connecting Asia and rest of the world. And I am more than grateful for the mentors, colleagues, professors and friends who have supported me and helped me navigate through the challenges - from thinking about switching career, to applying for grad school, brushing up my technical skills, searching for job opportunities and planning a long-term career goal. I would like to thank my mentors and role models Kristie Lu Stout and Mariko Oi 大井真理子 who have shared their invaluable experiences as international correspondents in Asia. I wanted to thank Lisa Du and Kazunori Takada for speaking with me back in 2017 and never gave up on me the past few years as I went back and forth about my career. I would also love to thank Kana Nishizawa, CFA, Lianting Tu, CFA, Ed Johnson, Anthony Truchot, Kate Hamuro for offering me the opportunity, supporting me through the multiple interviews and helping me realize that Bloomberg truly is an amazing fit. Last but not least, I liked to thank Alisa Parenti, Kyung Bok Cho, Angela Moon for kindly offering time to connect with me on/offline and at conferences and sharing their experiences and tips to thrive at Bloomberg. It is hard to list the many people who have offered career support and guidance throughout the process, but I deeply appreciate meeting and speaking with you. I am looking forward to being back in Tokyo tomorrow after being away for a year...! And I am also very excited about the challenges and learnings ahead. #newjob #bloomberg
