Christmas Light Recycling and Recycling Events in 2021

Local Credit Union Helps Recycle the Community’s Christmas Lights

For the fourth year in a row, Arsenal Credit Union (8651 Watson Road) partnered with Midwest Recycling Center to recycle old, broken and unwanted Christmas lights at three of its branches. This season (Dec. 2020, through Jan. 4, 2021), the credit and members of the community saved a total of 1,388 pounds of Christmas lights from ending up in landfills. Its Arnold branch collected 849 pounds, its Florissant branch collected 213 pounds and its Webster Groves branch collected 326 pounds.

The credit union plans on holding more recycling events later this year. In the spring and fall, it will partner with American Document Destruction for paper shredding events. In the summer, it will again partner with MRC for electronics recycling events. Here’s a list of events planned for 2021. All events run from 8:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m.
