Announcing the 2021 AAJA Voices Student Fellows

The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is proud to announce the student fellows and faculty mentors for the 2021 Voices Cohort.

The Voices leadership team has selected 22 student journalists nationally and internationally. These students will receive training and mentorship from 11 professional mentors, who represent several platforms and news organizations, from the Los Angeles Times to ESPN.

The Voices program aims to increase diversity in journalism by providing job-ready candidates for hiring media employers. For the last three decades, Voices alumni and mentors have moved on to key roles in national and international media, including the Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Dallas Morning News, and the Huffington Post.

This year’s Voices is a virtual program, starting June 2021. Voices student fellows will present their in-depth, multimedia reporting projects during the AAJA National Convention, August 24-28.
