UNWRAPPING THE GIFT OF CONNECTION
Every year, Angel Tree® brings children and their incarcerated mom or dad together on Christmas, one gift at a time.
URGENT HELP NEEDED THIS CHRISTMAS!
GIVE THE ULTIMATE GIFT - THE GIFT OF CHRIST
Angel Tree®, a program of Prison FellowshipTM, reaches out to the children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. Through Angel Tree, volunteers are mobilized to deliver a gift, the Gospel, and a personal message of love to children on behalf of their mom or dad in prison. Every Angel Tree parent’s family is also given access to a free, easy-to-read copy of the Bible (available in English or Spanish). It starts with a gift and leads to restored relationships.
HOW ANGEL TREE WORKS
-
Parents in prison sign up their children for Angel Tree.
-
Churches and organizations are assigned local families to serve.
-
Volunteers deliver gifts to children on behalf of the mom or dad behind bars.
In the summer, incarcerated moms and dads complete Angel Tree applications. Beginning in October, Angel Tree program coordinators receive names of local children whose incarcerated parents signed up for Angel Tree. Volunteers contact caregivers to confirm permission for participation and discuss appropriate gifts. Church and organization members pick Angel Tree name tags with children’s ages and suggested gift ideas. Before Christmas, volunteers buy, wrap, and deliver gifts on behalf of incarcerated parents, sharing the Gospel in the process.

CHRISTMAS STORIES
MEET TATIANNA
MEET CASSIE
MEET JAMIE
MEET JOE
Left in her grandmother's care, Tatianna would pray at Christmas and New Year's, I just want my mama here. Then Angel Tree brought them closer to each other and to God, and Tatianna’s feelings of abandonment melted away.
When Cassie was incarcerated for four years, her children were just 4 years and 11 months old. She knew their pain from experiencing her own father’s incarceration. Angel Tree helped her connect with them, and now she’s making up for lost time.
Jamie stood gaping by the open car trunk as volunteers handed gifts to him his brother. Clutching those presents was the closest thing to wrapping their arms around his dad. Angel Tree brought a miracle to his family’s empty living room.
After causing a deadly car wreck, Joe went to prison and left two young daughters behind. Angel Tree helped set his family on a new path. Now, he is the director of Angel Tree Sports Clinic, bringing hope to thousands of prisoners’ kids each year.
VIRTUAL ANGEL TREETM - A NEW OPTIONAL WAY TO SERVE CHILDREN OF PRISONERS
Prison Fellowship® is committed to the health and well-being of Angel Tree volunteers like you and the families we serve. As Christmas approaches, our team has been preparing for worst-case scenarios in light of COVID-19, including the reality that many churches may be closed or other restrictions may be in place. Conducting Angel Tree Christmas the same as years past just may not be possible for many of our partners.
Virtual Angel Tree is a new, effective, and optional way for you to facilitate your Angel Tree program: You will have the flexibility to operate exactly as before, incorporate this new approach entirely, or apply a combination.
