UPDATE: March 11-12 Events Postponed Due to COVID-19

In light of the recent developments and public health concerns related to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19),  the Syrian American Council and its partners have decided to postpone the commemoration events for the ninth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, originally scheduled for March 11-12.

This decision to cancel the conference was made collectively with the Harmoon Center for Contemporary Studies and the Arab Center Washington DC following confirmed cases in the Washington, D.C. area, and due to the participation of several attendees and speakers who are traveling from or have visited areas with large numbers of confirmed cases.

We regret having to postpone this important event; however, we feel it is imperative to prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved. We remain committed to focusing on the urgent and critical events in Syria and look forward to announcing a new date for the conference, gala, and advocacy day as soon as we are able to do so.

* If you have purchased a gala ticket, we will refund you the full amount.

Wednesday, March 11 - Thursday, March 12, 2020

Nine years since Syrians peacefully took to the streets to demand their rights and freedom, we invite you to join us for a series of events among friends -- old and new -- who continue to amplify, honor, and further the principles of the Syrian Revolution.

Syrian American organizations are coming together in our nation's capital from March 11-12 to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the Syrian revolution. Join us as we engage with government officials and the Syrian American community, outlining the necessary steps to hold the oppressive Syrian regime accountable and to bring justice and freedom to the Syrian people.

As we gather to commend the work of Syrian American organizations and the community in successfully advocating for the passage of the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act, we now turn our attention to the implementation of this important legislation and keep the focus on the worsening humanitarian situation in Idlib and other vital topics.

For two days, Syrians and friends of Syrians will come together to remember, honor, and work alongside each other to become the most effective advocates that they can be.

Join us for an unforgettable two-day event.
