15th BIENNIAL EDUCATORS' CONFERENCE

"Reflections of the Past: Words STILL Matter"

The Holocaust Commission Educators’ Conferences for elementary, middle, and high school public and private school educators, in addition to all other student advocates, are offered biennially.

Bringing nationally recognized speakers, authors, and human rights experts to the Tidewater area, these conferences equip educators with practical and advanced skills that address challenging contemporary issues.

Conference topics range from intolerance and prejudice to dealing with social media and cyberbullying. This year's conference will focus on media literacy, choices and incomplicity, refugees and the Holocaust, and historical and contemporary antisemitism. Emphasis is placed on the “SOL Connection,” and those attending receive educational professional development hours.

Presented by: VBCPS, Echoes & Reflections, Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater

With an introduction by Christonya Brown, Coordinator of History and Social Science for the Virginia Department of Education.

With special thanks to the Sam & Reba Sandler Foundation and Weinstein Properties for their continued support of The Holocaust Commission.
