Puerto Rico Chose Statehood. Demand That Congress Listens.
The U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico need your voice. Add your name to our petition to Congress.
On November 3, 2020, Americans across the country got to vote in one of the most important elections in a generation. That is, unless if you were one of 3.2 million Americans who live in Puerto Rico.
Due to its territory status, the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico are prohibited from voting for President and electing voting representatives to Congress. Even worse they get treated unequally under federal laws, policies and programs. And while this has been the case for over a century, with devastating repercussions for the island, residents there have decided they've had enough.
That same day, in a historic plebiscite, a majority of Puerto Ricans voted "Yes" to be immediately admitted into the Union as a state.
At the national level there is bi-partisan support for Puerto Rico statehood, and polls show a majority of Americans are in favor of it.
Now more than ever, we need your voice to demand that Congress "Respect Puerto Rico's Statehood Vote!" by supporting and passing the Puerto Rico Status Act before it's too late.
