The Battle After Roe

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — June 24, 2022 — Washington, DC

The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn not only Roe, but Casey is an unconscionable assault on our fundamental human right to bodily autonomy, and a giant step backward in the fight for sexual freedom in America. In today’s decision, Justice Clarence Thomas went further — saying the Court should reconsider all of the Court’s previous decisions regarding the right to privacy, including Obergefell (same-sex marriage), Lawrence (sodomy laws) and Griswold (contraception).

This is a signal to well-funded, faith-based groups that if they bring challenges, the Court is ready to strip away those rights as well. We have to fight back, and fight back now.

In August, Woodhull will host the 2022 Sexual Freedom Summit, and if you care about these rights, we need you there. To strategize. To learn. To organize. TO FIGHT BACK. It’s no longer a question of whether they will come, but whether we’ll be ready for them when they do. We need your support more than ever.

Join us, and help Woodhull prepare for the battle ahead.
