Mountain Dreamers is an immigrant advocacy nonprofit based in Frisco, CO, serving the Central Mountain Region with grass-roots advocacy and resources for immigrants and their families.

Mountain Dreamers VISION is of an inclusive mountain community that promotes equitable opportunities for immigrants from diverse backgrounds to be safe, to be celebrated, and to thrive.

Our MISSION is to inspire, educate, and advocate in order for immigrants and their allies to create systems that advance equity and social justice in our mountain communities.

Edras’ Story

"Hello, my name is Edras. I am very grateful to the Mountain Dreamers organization, which did not hesitate to help me by providing me with a grant that I needed so that the lawyers could start working on our case as my son and I hope to find a better and safer life in Colorado. I am very grateful to this organization for everything they did for my son and by helping us with the financial assistance we needed so desperately, thank you very much Mountain Dreamers."

What we do

Mountain Dreamers formed in June, 2018 as a volunteer group of immigrants and non-immigrants to bring the stories of local immigrant families to the community.

Today, we have offices in Frisco and Eagle and provide local immigrant clients with free services and grassroots advocacy.

MD’s efforts include

  • immigration legal aid to help DACA recipients, asylum seekers and their families gain work permits and legal status ($300,000 distributed to date)

  • help applying for the Colorado Standard driver’s license/ID for immigrants and help filing taxes and gaining Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs)

  • local and statewide community advocacy on access to affordable housing, protections for renters and mobile home park residents, equitable public transportation access, wage theft and labor trafficking, and more

  • the “Oso” Outdoor Equity and Inclusion Intitiative, breaking down barriers and increasing access to outdoor recreation for immigrants, non-English speakers, and people of color

  • the “Newcomers” migrant emergency integration project
