Dear Intercessors,

One year ago we announced that the Rev. Dr. Jake Stum was joining our team as Executive Director. So much has happened since then! ARDF has continued growing in many ways. We've welcomed new board members. We've partnered with new churches. We've navigated Covid protocols, setbacks, and the complexities of raising money for disaster events that aren't always in our US news cycle. On the back end, we've worked on switching databases and creating a thoughtful social media presence. We've adjusted to staff working remotely.

We've dreamed and schemed and prayed and praised God for the blessings He has bestowed on us during a turbulent yet fruitful year.

This month we ask for some specific prayer requests for ARDF and our team as we continue to move forward. There are many moving pieces in an organization like ours, and we need your intercessions as we seek to do God's work through us.

We also want to pray with you personally (or at least over zoom) at the end of the month! We will be having our first ARDF Prayer Meeting on Friday, May 28th, at 12pm EST. You can register to attend below.

This short time of prayer will be focused on the requests in this letter, but if there are other requests you have we would love to hear them. We will have space toward the end for our prayer leader to mention additional names, countries, and situations that need prayer.

Thank you for your prayers and your partnership. We could not do this work without your supporting prayers!

Psalm 123

Unto you I lift up my eyes, you who are enthroned in the heavens.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress,

Even so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until he shows us his favor.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us,
for we have suffered more than enough contempt.

Long has our soul suffered the scorn of the wealthy and the spitefulness of the proud.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Advocates and Partnerships

Proven Partners

In the day to day...

ARDF needs Advocates. These are people who love us and are excited to share about what we do. They are invested in our work and they pray for us.

ARDF is already blessed with several of these amazing people, and we pray that more will join our mission and help us share about our unique role in helping with Disaster Relief and Development Projects through the Anglican Church.

We also pray for more partnerships with churches domestically and abroad. We are always so excited when we can connect with people, and when we can connect churches in the US with churches across the globe! We want to have a connection with every ACNA church, which in turn will open up more connections and projects overseas!

ARDF's Proven Partners are our faithful monthly givers. They are foundational, providing a consistent and reliable donation base that we can count on. We've used these funds for general operating costs, sudden disaster relief needs, and the completion of projects that haven't otherwise gotten enough funding.

We are praying for more Proven Partners to join our mission. We pray that not only will they want to support us monthly, but that their hearts would be open and invested in the work we are doing, so that we can get excited together about ARDF's relational mission!

We love our ARDF team. Please pray for each of us as we take on new tasks, refine old ones, and work together to expand ARDF's reach. We feel the Lord is doing mighty things and we ask for your prayers to act wisely in the face of new possibilities. We pray for an upkeep of momentum and excitement as we do the day to day necessities to move us forward in developing partnerships both domestically and abroad. We ask for God's mercy upon us, that we may keep our eyes fixed on Him.

Some little things coming up...

We will be gathering as a team in early June to talk about our vision for the next three years. During this time we will also be working to physically downsize our office space, as many of us are working mostly from home now. Please pray for fruitful conversation and fun fellowship as we work together!

Almighty God, we pray for the work of ARDF in both the big and little things.

  • We lift our eyes to You, O LORD, knowing that You are LORD and master of all, enthroned in the heavens. We praise You for Your sovereignty over all things. We know that Your will shall be accomplished in Your time, and we ask that as we join Your purposes in the world, You will guide and sustain us.
  • Grant us Your favor LORD, and send us Advocates and Proven Partners whom You have appointed for us. We wait upon You and we look to You for guidance in our decision making, in both the big dreams we have and in the small, day to day tasks.
  • We know that You are a loving and kind master, one who came to dwell among us and taught us how to serve. May we follow in Christ's example as we seek to serve others. Help our ARDF team as we serve each other. Help our Global and Domestic Board of Trustees as they serve You in faithfulness. Help our church partners as they serve their communities. Help our Advocates and Proven Partners as they join with us to serve the most vulnerable in the world.
  • We lift up the most vulnerable among us, LORD. They have suffered enough contempt and scorn. Be with our partners still suffering from COVID and grant us favor as we reach out to them. Be with those who will benefit from our various projects. Be with victims of natural disasters. Help us to share Your love with all of these so that they will also lift their eyes to You in hope and confidence of Your goodness.
  • Even as we work to relieve oppression from poverty and tragic situations, our own hearts suffer when we are proud. Let us recognize that You are the Mover and Worker and Savior. Help us to come alongside Your purposes. Soften our proud hearts to see Your work in the world.

We praise You, O God, for Your infinite love and mercy towards us. We lift our eyes to You and ask Your favor upon us and the work you have given us to do.

Amen.
