Georgia STAND-UP is committed to inspiring meaningful civic engagement, advocating for equitable access to public transit, promoting affordable housing, and supporting Medicaid expansion in the state of Georgia. By amplifying the voices of those affected by public policy, Georgia STAND-UP works to ensure the equitable distribution of resources for all.

EMPOWERING VOTERS

Georgia STAND-UP empowers Black voters in metro Atlanta and surrounding counties through intensive civic education, voter registration, and leadership training, fostering a politically active community that transcends election cycles.

FIGHTING FOR HEALTHCARE FOR ALL

Georgia STAND-UP is committed to ensuring that every Georgian, regardless of income, has access to quality, comprehensive health care.

BUILDING WORKER POWER

Georgia STAND-UP partners with organized labor to elevate worker issues, engaging in strategic advocacy efforts to advance economic equity and opportunity across industries.

SECURING FUNDS FOR GEORGIA: JUSTICE 40

Georgia STAND-UP mobilizes organizations, local governments, and stakeholders to secure their fair share of the unprecedented funds available through federal policies such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS Act, Inflation Reduction Act and more.

ADVOCATING for Equitable Policies

We maintain a presence at the State Capitol and at city halls monitoring bills, advocating for just and equitable solutions, and educating the public about the impact of legislation.

CHAMPIONING Transit Equity

As a founding member of the Transformation Alliance (TFA), STAND-UP has helped advance transit-oriented development and equitable transit access in metro Atlanta and across the South.

BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

Georgia STAND-UP champions the equitable deployment of historic federal funds to revolutionize broadband access and digital literacy in Georgia’s unserved and underserved communities.

ADVANCING Affordable Housing

Georgia STAND-UP believes safe, affordable housing is a right. We work with community leaders and stakeholders to protect access to affordable housing through policy advocacy and on-the-ground organizing.

ADVANCING ECONOMIC JUSTICE

Georgia STAND-UP through its affiliate workforce development program BUILD UP Trade UP prepares workers for green jobs and jobs of the 21st Century. Our apprenticeship preparation program gives hands on experience at Energy Audits, EV Charging Installation, and Solar Panel technology.
