Now is the Time to Vote!

Vermont’s Primary Election is coming up soon on August 11! If you received a ballot in the mail and haven’t sent it back yet, the Secretary of State recommends delivering your ballot to your Town Clerk’s Office in person on or before August 10, or dropping it off at your polling place before 7:00 pm on August 11.

You can also vote in person early or on August 11. Call your Town Clerk for details on the voting options available to you locally. If you do vote in person, please wear a mask and follow public health guidelines! To see a sample ballot, find your polling place, and more, visit mvp.vermont.gov.

Meet the Lead Organizations

Each issue on the Alliance’s annual Legislative Agenda has one or more identified Lead Organizations. A lead organization performs several tasks, including researching and writing proposals for issues to be included on the Legislative Agenda, serving as a policy expert on the issue, and working with Alliance staff to secure testimony for committees and engaging legislators.

Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development

The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development provides inclusive education and family support to promote the success of children and families. For more than 50 years, the Center has served the communities of Windham County. The Prouty Center has grown from being one of the first preschools in the country educating children with disabilities to a center of excellence for early education and support for child and family development, both on-site and in the community.

The Prouty Center does this work through two primary programs. These programs are the Early Learning Center and Community-Based Services, which includes Children’s Integrated Services, Child Care Support Services, and Family Supportive Housing.

The Winston Prouty Center was one of three Lead Organizations working on the Children’s Integrated Services issue on the Alliance’s 2020 Legislative Agenda. The Lead Organizations seek to secure an increased investment in CIS, to ensure continued progress on family safety and stability, healthy child development, and young children’s access to quality early care and education.
