Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Hispanic Heritage Month began as a week-long celebration, initially established by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. The week was chosen to coincide with the anniversaries of the independence of several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua on September 15, followed by Mexico on September 16 and Chile on September 18. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan expanded Hispanic Heritage Week to a month-long observance. The dates for Hispanic Heritage Month were chosen to encompass the independence celebrations of several Latin American countries, symbolizing the rich history and cultural connections between Hispanic and Latino Americans and their countries of origin. #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinoHeritageMonth

Only when organisations have processes in place to be on top of their governance is community in a position to be properly served. Typically, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations have massive goals which, if achieved, can be life changing through the cultural, educational, health, community and other areas where they are operating. Given our technical experiences and knowledge we feel a great sense of responsibility to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations by developing and growing the specified governance outcomes through the 𝐁𝐄𝐢𝐍𝐆 program. 𝐁𝐄𝐢𝐍𝐆 is a journey where the journey begins in the program itself which is designed to seek out and find the balance between the governance needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and the respective regulatory obligations and requirements. Hispanic Heritage Month Facts Each year, the United States observes National Hispanic Heritage Month. But how long has the U.S. been doing this? Was it always a month? Why does it begin in the middle of September? 1. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15 2. National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America 3. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson 4. It was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period 5. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988 6. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua 7. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively 8. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30-day period 9.
