Secret talent? Participate in our Variety Show this December!

By Sophie Babcock, Associate Board Co-Vice President, Events

Do you have a talent or fun skill you’re proud of? Or know someone in your network who does? We are now recruiting participants for the CCH Associate Board’s second annual virtual Variety Show on Thursday, December 16 starting at 7 p.m.

Whether you are a singer, dancer, musician, comic, or just someone who loves to take on a fundraising challenge, we invite you to participate! Last year’s show featured talents ranging from pie-eating to juggling, so please don’t be shy and feel free to think outside of the box.

Participants will have five minutes to share their talent with a panel of CCH judges for the chance to win charitable notoriety and a trophy! In the weeks leading up to the virtual show, participants will spread the word about their participation by fundraising for CCH via a personal donation page online.

For our inaugural variety show in December 2020, 17 contestants raised almost $17,000, and this year we’ve raised our goal to $20,000.

All funds raised through this year’s show will support the CCH Scholarship Program. Our college scholarship program provides renewable awards of $3,500 to Chicago area students who have experienced homelessness. Since 2004, we have distributed $588,440 to 82 students.

There is no minimum fundraising requirement to participate, but the more money our talented participants raise prior to the show, the better their score will start out! Family and friends are invited to tune in to watch their loved ones compete. Register to attend this year’s virtual show here, or support one of our contestants.

Please reach out to Sophie Babcock if you or a friend would like to participate, or if you have any questions.
