Introducing the Alliance’s New Public Engagement Director: Charlie Gliserman

The Alliance is pleased to announce that Charlie Gliserman will be joining our staff on June 3 as our new Public Engagement Director. She will be taking over this position from Kelly Ault, who is leaving in id-June after 12 years with the Alliance.

Charlie joins us from the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) in New York City. Prior to her work at CRR, she was a Session Associate with the Necrason Group in Montpelier. In her free time, Charlie teaches debate, public speaking, and professional skills classes with the Urban Debate League and Rikers Debate Project.

Charlie graduated with high honors from UVM with a BA in Political Science and Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies. A passionate social justice advocate, Charlie was an active student employee at the UVM LGBTQA Center and Varsity Member of the Lawrence Debate Union, with over 20 international competitive titles. Charlie also held internships with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Human Rights First, U.S. Congressman Alan Lowenthal, and New York State Assemblymember Carrie Woerner.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
