Biden Threatens Nursing Homes, GOP Governors Over COVID and Avoids Afghanistan Questions

Biden Threatens Nursing Homes, GOP Governors Over COVID and Avoids Afghanistan Questions

Biden is a huge bully and coward.

President Joe Biden is having a fantastical week! The man decided to hold a press briefing to threaten nursing homes and Republican governors in the name of the collective good while avoiding the elephant in the room: Afghanistan.

Get Vaccinated in Nursing Homes or No Money for Seniors

Biden told nursing homes the government will withhold Medicare and Medicaid funding if they do not require their staff to get the COVID vaccine:

“With this announcement, I’m using the power of the federal government as a payer of healthcare costs to ensure we reduce those risks to our most vulnerable seniors,” Mr. Biden said.

The administration plans to issue a new regulation through the Department of Health and Human Services that would make Medicare and Medicaid funding for nursing homes conditional on their staffs being vaccinated.

The White House said the new requirements, which will be drafted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, could take effect as early as next month and would affect more than 15,000 nursing homes that employ roughly 1.3 million workers.

Shorter Biden: Either do this or I’ll withhold something else that helps seniors.

What!? You sound so compassionate when you threaten to withhold money from seniors. Give me a break.

Biden Thinks Republican Governors Don’t Care About Children

Then Biden attacked Republican governors because they passed mandates that do not allow schools to instill mask mandates.

I have a problem with that. Let the parents and children decide. How about NO mandates?

Biden implied the Republican governors don’t care about children:

“Unfortunately, as we’ve seen throughout this pandemic, some politicians are trying to turn public safety measures – that is, children wearing masks in school – into political disputes for their own political gain,” Biden said. “Some are even trying to take power away from local educators by banning masks in school. They’re setting a dangerous tone.”

Biden condemned threats he said recently came from protesters in places like Tennessee, calling “the intimidation and threats we’re seeing across the country … wrong.”

“They’re unacceptable. I’ve said before, this isn’t about politics. It’s about keeping our children safe. It’s about taking on the virus together, united. I made it clear that I’ll stand with those who are trying to do the right thing,” the president added.

What a bully. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the parents decide to mask their child. LIKE IT SHOULD BE.

Biden is taking power away from parents by basically telling schools they must mandate masks. That’s a dangerous tone, dude.

Coward

You know what people care about now? Afghanistan. Biden refused to answer any questions.

Now Biden is crying because he hasn’t slept and wants to go home to Delaware.

Nursing homes can make up the revenue by building oil and gas pipelines.

Or housing illegal aliens. No vaccinations required for them.

When Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, he was willing to shut down flights if there weren’t enough.

What’s Biden going to shut down when all the employees at nursing homes (who are not paid very well) quit over this. Seriously- you might as well threaten a convenience store clerk.

Translation: Have fun evicting your Medicare and Medicaid patients because we won’t pay and the PR backlash will be immediately on you.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to p. | August 18, 2021 at 7:36 pm

Translation – staff that do not want to be vaccinated will simply quit and go find other work which is rather easy to find these days. So there will be massive shortages of trained personnel to take care of our senior citizens in nursing homes. Thanks Joe!

      Here’s a thought.
The nursing homes whine and the decree is modified to all full time employees. Voi la, the unvaccinated must quit or became part time, with less pay and no benefits.
But then unintended consequences. Part time employees working at more than one facility increase likelihood of cross contamination.

Further translation: Have fun functioning without our money.

As he said, “I’m using the power of the federal government as a payer of healthcare costs to {make you do what I want you to do}.” That’s the main problem with “single payer” systems — the single payer gets to make the medical decisions, not the patient.

      diver64 in reply to Pepsi_Freak. | August 20, 2021 at 4:45 am

Exactly right. If the government is in charge of your healthcare, they get to make the decisions regarding providing it or with holding it .

Biden turns his back on the reporters, and by extension the rest of us, and disappears behind a curtain,

where a great big bowl of ice cream awaits.

“Ya did good, Mr. President, real good. Now lets get you back to your comfy bed.”

    The arrogance is beyond pathological.

It rivals that of former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.

Question: Can someone be so stupid as to be evil, or are they merely stupid?

yoshootme in reply to Brave Sir Robbin. | August 19, 2021 at 6:33 am

well, he was stupid for the 50 years prior to stealing the presidential election, so what would make you think he isn’t stupid now…insert robert gates’ quote here…..

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to yoshootme. | August 19, 2021 at 9:19 am

I am not in any way disputing his stupidity. My question is when does stupid intersect with evil? The thing is, Biden is worse than a random outcome generator. He always gets it wrong. Consistent stupidity. Does that ever become classifiable as evil?

At some point (which I think we’ve long-since reached), mere stupidity cannot explain the string of catastrophes that follow this ingrate around. Remember the adage:

Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is enemy action.

Arminius in reply to yoshootme. | August 19, 2021 at 9:44 pm

This administration is violating every single provision of the Nurmberg Codes. Normally I’m not too quick to throw around word Nazi, but this nation like every other Nation on earth is signatory to that treaty. Intended to make sure that no fascist government ever coerced anyone to take part in medical experiments.again.

Never forget? It isn’t like the fascists have forgotten. They hope we have, or we’re too cowed to resist.

        diver64 in reply to yoshootme. | August 20, 2021 at 4:46 am

Biden didn’t steal anything, he doesn’t even know what day of the week it is. His handlers who are in charge did it to he could be a puppet for their woke schemes. The damage they are doing to this country will be hard to reverse.

The people are getting what they voted for and they are getting it good and hard.

There are rumors Heels-Up Harris is contacting cabinet members about the 25th amendment.

The Obama/Jarrett plan assumed Biden would screw something up so badly his own cabinet would agree to get rid of him. They were right about him screwing up that badly.

But were they right in thinking a majority of the cabinet would think cackling Kamala would be better?

And I’d wager fake doc Jill is waging her own campaign. Better to make Joe a figurehead rarely seen or heard in public than put a thoroughly unlikeable incompetent sociopath like Harris in the WH. Better the cabinet leaders (SoS, SoD, SoT, and a couple/few others) form a ruling coalition giving Jill a seat at the table.

The First Slut should be quaking in her kneepads at the thought of becoming president after the ruin Biden has left our country in. She knows she’s in over her head, even if it were the best of times. If she doesn’t she’s as deluded as a Biden voter.

As for that dumbass Jill: at this point, the tacky asshole is even less palatable as Harris.

      diver64 in reply to Owego. | August 20, 2021 at 4:51 am

We are already at the mercy of his quota box ticking committee who were put in place not for competency but for optics. A company can go bankrupt and it sucks, America can be destroyed as we are seeing now. If you think Biden is in charge of anything other than the ice cream freezer I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Completely tone deaf, and the hell of it is: I can’t tell if it was on purpose or not! Biden seriously needs to be removed from the White House!

Legal question: Can the government mandate that people take a medicine not approved by the FDA?

CommoChief in reply to Petrushka. | August 18, 2021 at 7:48 pm

In what context and which govt? States have more clear authority over public health than the Feds. I will chime in on my opinion as to the Federal govt making a mandate.

Just as an individual person? No, see the DoD and the experimental anthrax vax.

As an employer? Yep, though due to fed employee unions pushback it is more complicated as a practical matter.

As a precondition for grants to Universities ECT? In the new grant requests sure. As a precondition for govt contracts? Yep in the new contracts.

Question then becomes what exceptions? Health conditions? Which ones? What about risk of side effects due to family history but not personal history? Religious exemptions? Generalized objections of personal conscious?

Dathurtz in reply to Petrushka. | August 18, 2021 at 9:22 pm

If that is a problem the FDA will just issue approval.

InEssence in reply to Dathurtz. | August 18, 2021 at 11:35 pm

If that be the case, wouldn’t other drug companies sue to get their drugs authorized, since the covid vaccines have passed none of the required tests and actually failed at least one, in Pfizer’s case.

I maintain that the pending FDA approvals of the original vaccines is why there is such a push for the boosters. Typically for the regular flu vaccines, should vaccine=related deaths reach 35-50, they are pulled out of the market. That number for the WuFly vaccines is well over 6000 and I’ve seen claims of over 12.000. So the fastest way to get rid of those vaccines is for the FDA to approve them. Why and HOW would the FDA do that? I would love the country to get into THAT conversation.

I also am coming to believe that the game is to get as many of us illegally vaccinated as possible before the law catches up to them. Yes, I am very suspicious about these vaccines when we can see the science for ourselves yet can’t find the traction nor political will to stop them.

Dathurtz in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 19, 2021 at 6:51 am

I agree except I don’t have any faith it will ever catch up to them.

Something is big-league screwy with the vaccine. I don’t know what it is, but I know the people that hate me and want me dead really want me to take it.

randian in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 20, 2021 at 3:24 am

It is 12,000+. CDC posted it, then when it got discovered they reverted the page to the old one with 6,000. It hasn’t changed since, as if to imply that nobody is dying from the vaccine anymore. They simply can’t be trusted.

I’d be that’s a question with no definitive answer.

A Roberts court would say: “What do you want us to say, Mr. Soros?”

Olinser in reply to Petrushka. | August 19, 2021 at 12:28 am

    And the answer is:

Whatever the hell the Supreme Court feels like ruling.

In case you hadn’t noticed, the Democrats don’t CARE whether it’s legal or constitutional.

They’re just doing it anyway and waiting to see if somebody stops them.

So the answer is – they’re GOING to do it until and unless the SC rules on it.

      diver64 in reply to Olinser. | August 20, 2021 at 4:53 am

The CDC Eviction mess is an example of Bidens total disregard of SCOTUS and the law. Too bad no-one seems to care

Voyager in reply to Petrushka. | August 19, 2021 at 1:09 am

Compelling it is juggling lit dynamite.

These are experimental vaccines under emergency use authorization. Given the situation, that part is fine and reasonable.

However, that means they also come with unknown risks for anyone taking them.

If I chose to take that risk based on a reasonably informed assessment, if that risk goes bad, then it is on my own head.

If, however, one is compelled (and bribery is coercion) and it goes wrong, that’s on the people who did the compulsion. And we’re not going to be talking an “oops, my bad” sort of ‘on their heads’, either.

markymark in reply to Voyager. | August 19, 2021 at 9:56 am

This. Pfizer has immunity from lawsuits but nursing home administrators, school administrators, and employers do not. Once there is a ‘mandate’ they become personally liable for negative outcomes. Bringing down some large judgements against vaccine mandators is the only way to stop them.

Voyager in reply to markymark. | August 19, 2021 at 10:58 am

Immunity from lawsuits is not immunity from everything. It just removes the most legal layer of responce.

If one of those “grap and jabs” sends someone’s kid home in a box, are they going to be satisfied with a “oh well they have legal immunity” response?

Legal question: Can the government mandate that people take a medicine not approved by the FDA?

An even better legal question: Can the government threaten to withhold federal funding (medicare/medicaid) as a means to coerce elder care facilities to mandate/require employees to be vaccinated as a condition of their receiving those funds.

Can the Feds threaten funding? Sure. Can they make it stick in CT? Assuming they comply with all the administrative procedures act process v simply making an overnight decree then IMO, probably yes.

The CT is still giving deference to executive acts as if we were in the first days of Covid instead of 18+ months into it. IMO, that deference is unwarranted at this point.

The executive has had plenty of time to conduct studies and gather data to support their decisions. The CT should be forcing the govt to provide a higher level of evidence that supports any restrictions on liberty instead of just allowing a perpetual crisis mode.

Biden is threatening senior citizens, wants to cut of benefits that many of them have earned and paid for? Maybe it’s time to “cut off” his gerontologist and see if he can walk across the room without getting lost.

Don’t be surprised if rumblings of a military coup are heard.

We’re at a very, very precipitous point: Americans are getting it that Biden has sold out our nation, and will NEVER defend it.

Masks are for the children’s safety.
Next will be mandatory Vax for kids like in Australia

These people are unbelievable!

OK, let us accept that Biden has done one of the worst screw ups in foreign affairs in our history. And that he is defying the Supreme Court declaring one of his programs unconstitutional. And violating the law seven ways from any day of the week as a matter of course. And of course turning his back and walking off when someone dares question him.

Who, or either party, is going to do anything about it? Or is talking about it? Or doing anything but trying not to be noticed collaborating with the above?

TINVOWOOT,

The Biden Residency seems to be getting worse by the day.

PDT would have stood there and answered every question put to him. I saw him do it all the time.

This man is insane. Literally. Alzheimers or not – he’s batshit crazy, and needs to be removed from office, ASAP.

“With this announcement, I’m using the power of the federal government as a payer of healthcare costs to ensure we reduce those risks to our most vulnerable seniors,” Mr. Biden said.”

Democrat stratagem #2: What the constitution in no way authorizes, extort from the states by the power of bribery (more specifically, cutting off the annual routine bribery).

Same way the federal government mandated the 55MPH speed limit, the 21yo alcohol limit, the click it or ticket laws, the helmet laws, and (soon) the hiking of the age for gun possession, NONE of which are powers constitutionally delegated to the federal government.

Democrat late stage abortion. Fascists like biden* need to be tried, convicted and sent to prison for the rest of his life.

Biden, for all his mental illness, is still a ruthless, cold and uncaring thug. Obama would not dirty or bloody his hands at the level Biden is willing and capable of doing. How much is The Big Guy being paid to usher China in?

The fact that it is not FDA approved is really not that odd on meds. I took a migraine abortive for 20+ years (worked great with no loopy drug side effects of narcotics, but it did have a tiny amount of muscle relaxant in it). After 20 years they rejected its use for migraines. For reasons that have to do with the formulation, minus the muscle relaxant being Excedrin Migraine, which by the way does not work as well. It sucked.

The old geezer has gone full Ga Ga!

Nursing homes will sue and win… faster than the Taliban beat Biden’s ass of the embassy roof.

Look how this plays out:

1. Nursing home to staff: “Get vaccinated or we fire you!”
2. Staff to Nursing home: “Fire us from this shitty job? Please do.”
3. Nursing home to Nobody “OH SHIT, Who is going to feed and wipe the asses of all these old people??????”

In case Biden hasn’t noticed, there’s a labor shortage (caused by government). Also- qualified applicants aren’t exactly beating down the doors to work at Nursing homes… Also- Nurses are a key demographic who are saying HELL NO to vaccine mandates and are quitting or ready to strike. Buenas suerte replacing them.

Nice job sleepy joe.

No malarkey!

I doubt that any of those old bastards are subject to the vicissitudes of the wonderful health care plan that just charged my 73-yr-old wife $9.45 for an A1C test.

They don’t even hav the sense to round up. $945 is the price used car salesmen paste on a $400 Ford.

Demented Clown with a Whore Queen.

I know the admin at a local Nursing Home. She estimates around 30% of her workforce are going to quit should this mandate come to pass. She’s penning her own resignation letter as well, and this facility is already short staffed.

There is a seething anger among these people with what Biden did yesterday. Mandate a questionable “vaccine” for a bunch of people who already have natural immunity (they’ve all had covid). And to do this while ignoring and abandoning our fellow Americans in Afghanistan…

Around here, nobody trusts him. Nobody believes a single word he says. He’s seen as a heartless empty husk of a man, and he is hated like no other president in my lifetime.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Leslie Eastman. | August 19, 2021 at 9:36 am

    Poll results:
    Favorable Biden: 1
    Unfavorable Biden: 2,702

    Reported –

AP: “Biden’s favorability among Biden supporters holds steady at 100%.”
A poll conducted by CNN indicates that despite the difficulties in Afghanistan, the surge in COVID-19 cases, and a slowing economy, support for president Joe Biden from Biden supporters holds firm at 100%, indicating his base is solidly behind him. During CNN’s last poll two months ago, president Biden’s favorability was also at 100% among those who favored Joe Biden indicating no loss of favorability among those who hold a favorable opinion of the president..

Mention Biden and nursing home in same sentence and there is no need for further comments.

Why do the staff have to be vaccinated if nearly all the residents are? Do the vaccines protect the residents or don’t they? They’re acting like the vaccines don’t protect the elderly from staff, but if that’s true it also won’t stop the staff from spreading it. Not that the staff likely needs a covid vaccine anyway unless they’re 60+.

Destroying jobs, forced experimental vaccines, making America independent on foreign oil again while enriching Putin with a pipeline and now Russia is in second place importing oil into our country with Biden begging OPEC for more, collapse and failure in the withdrawal from Afghanistan, woke nonsense being forced into schools and our government. Crisis on our southern border with 212,000 illegal aliens flooding in last month with an estimated 40,000 Covid positive ones being bussed and flown all over the country and dropped off while forcing people in Afghanistan to go through the entire visa process while they are waiting to be murdered.
