Participate in Fairfax County's Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan!
FACS encourages our faith communities to provide input to the Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) a climate mitigation plan developed by Fairfax County residents and stakeholders.
About CECAP
The CECAP development process is administered by the Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination with support from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Fairfax County-based management consulting firm ICF. The plan, which will be the first of its kind for the county, will include a greenhouse gas inventory as well as targets for greenhouse gas reduction in the coming years.
The CECAP will also include actions and strategies to help mitigate climate change and to reduce the impact of climate-related events on county residents and businesses. At the conclusion of the development process, a final plan will be presented to the Board of Supervisors for adoption.
While decisions about the plan will ultimately be made by a Task Force composed of several dozen representatives of community organizations, local businesses, and associations, the Task Force needs the input of county residents and workers to inform their conversation.
ACT NOW!
We need the faith community to demonstrate support for aggressive goals that prioritize equity, in alignment with our Fairfax to Zero priorities, and a process that ensures input from a diversity of people.
