The Rachel Carson Council (RCC) invites you to join us, Saturday, October 15, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., for our FREE cruise aboard the Cape Fear Riverboat, Henrietta, with RCC National’s Assistant Director, Claudia Steiner, NC Coastal Ecologist, Andy Wood, and other special guests.

Reserve your place NOW for this important opportunity to see and learn about the devastation of Enviva Corporation’s clear-cutting and wood pellet production in
North Carolina.

The Enviva Corporation’s climate-harming wood pellet production is now grinding 164 acres of North Carolina forests every day to ship to England to burn with coal to produce electricity.

More than 50,000 North Carolina
acres are to be destroyed in 2022
.

The Henrietta will leave from the port of Wilmington, NC, where you will see Enviva’s pellet storage facilities that hold over 90 metric tons of wood pellets bound for Europe. Then sail along the Cape Fear to see portions of clear-cut forest from the covered Henrietta while enjoying drinks and food available on-board. Attendees must be 18 years old or over. More details when you register to reserve your place.

October 15, 2022, 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The RCC Cape Fear River Cruise is co-sponsored with the Southern Forests Conservation (SFCC) Coalition.
