Volunteer Day on Perseverance

Event Date: Aug 21, 2022

Event Location: Parking lot at Perseverance Trailhead

We're back on Perseverance for another day of volunteer trail work from 9am to 3pm.

Perseverance and its connected trails are some of Juneau's most popular, especially with trail runners and mountain bikers. This work day will address erosion and storm damage by fixing the trail's tread and managing water. Volunteers will take part by helping to gravel sections of the trail and build drains to direct water off the trail.

Trail Mix will provide all the tools and instruction and lead the hike back to the work site (~2 miles).

Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Pack a lunch, water (lots of it if it's hot), rain gear, and work gloves if you have them.

Trail Mix recognizes the stewardship of the Áak’w and T’aakū Kwáans on whose land we live, work, and recreate. Our volunteer day will take place in It'ji Shaanáx̱ ("Sparkling Valley").
