PARTICIPANT LIABILITY WAIVER:  

I know that running or walking a 5K event is a potentially hazardous activity and a participant should not take part unless they are medically able. I confirm that I am medically able to participate in this event and I agree to abide by any decision of an event official relative to my ability to safely complete the course. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including, but not limited to: falls, contact with or conduct of other participants, the effects of the weather, including low temperatures and/or wind chill, traffic and conditions of the road. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, I hereby waive any claims I may now or in the future have against Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) or its representatives for damages or other liabilities that directly or indirectly arise from or relate to my participation in this event.

GRANT OF NAME AND LIKENESS RIGHTS:

I also hereby grant permission to the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF), as part of my participation in the race, the right to use my name and likeness, including from photographs or videos, for promotional and other legitimate business purposes in video, web, social media and any other format(s).

This event follows the standard running industry policy:
Registration is non-refundable except in the case of a documented medical reason. Refund requests must be submitted to SPEF’s Chief Development & Communications Officer Lynn Tusa (ltusa@spefct.org). Once approved, the registration fee (less the processing fee) will be refunded in the manner it was paid.

We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. I understand that my bib number is non-transferable.

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver including the no refund policy.
