A Conversation with Former FDA Deputy Commissioner for Food Policy and Response, Frank Yiannas

The HLS Food Law and Policy Clinic (FLPC) invites you to attend A Conversation with Former FDA Deputy Commissioner for Food Policy and Response, Frank Yiannas.  Frank, who retired from the FDA in February 2023, will share his insight on the nation’s infant formula crisis and other operational challenges facing the food division of FDA, including his thoughts on the FDA’s recent proposed reorganization of the food division, and challenges facing the food system.

Frank is a renowned food safety expert and a leading advocate for strengthening food safety standards, improving company culture around food safety, and using technology like block chain to improve food systems.  In addition to his time at FDA, Frank also served as the Vice President of Food Safety at Walmart and the Director of Safety and Health at Walt Disney.
