Trips will be starting from and returning to West Jerusalem, Israel.

Coming to Israel this summer? Visit the West Bank, too.

July 4, 2022, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Join T'ruah, Breaking the Silence, and One Climate for a tour of the South Hebron Hills region of the West Bank. Thousands of Palestinians in dozens of villages in this area are at risk of forcible displacement due to development and construction restrictions, settlement encroachment and violence. Learn about the origins and practice of Israeli security and settlement policies in this region of the southern West Bank from the former soldiers of Breaking the Silence, who were tasked with carrying these policies out during their military service. Learn from Israeli environmental activists about how the occupation makes the area’s residents most vulnerable to climate catastrophe. And learn first-hand from Palestinian residents about the human rights consequences of these policies, including issues of access to water, land, and housing. We will be learning about these issues through the lenses of human rights, climate crisis, and Jewish text. This trip is open to rabbis, cantors, and rabbinical and cantorial students (and their partners).

Accessibility: Some walking on unpaved terrain. May not be wheelchair accessible. Please contact T’ruah’s Israel Program Manager, Neta Dror, at ndror@truah.org for more info.
