We’re Gearing Up for Small Farm School 2019!

Small, hands-on classes cover a wide variety of subjects.

Small Farm School is an annual, full day event with hands-on workshops and classroom sessions for beginning and experienced small-scale commercial farmers. Each year, Small Farm School offers several different tracks with classes ranging from equipment maintenance/repair, animal husbandry (different focus animal group each year), organics, weed management, fruits, nuts, veggies, and more.

This year’s Small Farm School will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City. Registration opens on May 23, 2019! Save the date!

Why Hold the Event in July?

For six years, Small Farm School was held in September. As farmers know, September is a busy harvest time. Last year, in order to make the event more inclusive and to help farmers build the skills they need, the planning committee chose a slightly calmer time in the growing season to offer this event. Thursday was a big success last year. Let your farmer friends know that this date was designed with their needs in mind.

Who Should Attend Small Farm School?

Course offerings change each year, so if you have attended in the past, join us again! There is always something new to learn.

Classes are size-limited and will close when full. Early registration is highly recommended to ensure the best class selection.
