OUR CHILDREN face multiple world views that question their identity and purpose in today's society. When individuals experience the Manitowoc Lutheran culture, they will quickly see how God's unconditional love changes their life. Our goal is to develop our students to confidently know their identity in Christ. We see our school staff and leaders as mentors for our students, and they work hard, with their parents, to prepare them for the future and to live out their faith. "Manitowoc Lutheran High School uses its God-given gifts to help each student become thoroughly equipped for paths of service to our Redeemer"

A Growing Need

Seventy-Eight Incoming Freshmen!

Currently MLHS has a student enrollment of 224 students.  (61 Freshmen, 59 Sophomores, 49 Juniors, 54 Seniors graduating in May.)  When projecting future enrollment, we assume 65% of 8th graders from ten of our Lakeshore Lutheran grade schools will enroll. Based on this historical average, last summer we projected 61 incoming freshmen for 2023-24.

To date we are so excited to share that we have 78 incoming freshmen registered! In addition, our international student program currently has 15 students coming next year, and we could have more if we could provide housing for more. We have also seen more interest from families that have their kids enrolled in public schools. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

The projected increase in students adds urgency to our Capital Campaign. Your financial support will enable us to provide new and enhanced athletic facilities, and more timely practice schedules for our growing student body. Thank you!

WHAT IF?

A reception rate of 65%, which we feel is conservative, shows steady increase over the next 5 years. When considering our Lakeshore Lutheran grade schools they too are seeing an increase in enrollment!

What if we consider an increase of our conservative 65% reception rate and change it to a 70% reception rate over the next 5 years, without considering the fact that the grade schools are seeing an increase in their enrollments? (see bar chart)

Phase One Construction

PHASE ONE: Gymnasium, Locker Rooms & Parking Lot

Paving the Way!

Did you know that this summer the west parking lot is scheduled to be refinished and expanded? This will be vital for when Phase 1 construction begins. Refinishing the existing lot is necessary now, and the expansion will replace the parking spaces that will be lost when Phase 1 construction begins.

STRETCH GOAL(S): Our hope is that as funding becomes available we will be able to expand the project to include a fully furnished fitness center. While our primary focus will be the completion of the gym and locker rooms (orange section), we are optimistic that we will be able to "stretch" a little further to provide a state of the art fitness center where our athletes can train and all students can learn the value of lifelong fitness. Other options could be to complete the interior of the fitness center or at the very least shell out the fitness center.

Tree Removal on East Side of School

If you have been on campus this spring you may have noticed the trees on the southeast border between MLHS and the Lakeland Manor Mobile Home Park have been removed. The City of Manitowoc mandated that we remove the trees due to the presence of the ash borer.

Although we were sad to see the trees go, we can now utilize this area as a staging area for the Phase 1 building project. In the coming months we will consider options for beautifying the southeast corner of our campus.
