Women's Introduction to Bowfishing Retreat

Looking to get into bowfishing but unsure where to start? Join Steph from Woods + Waters Project for a Women's Intro to Bowfishing Retreat! Nestled on the rugged western edge of Iowa's Loess Hills and the Missouri River, participants will enjoy a hands on weekend, learning the ins and outs of bowfishing. Lodging, food and equipment will be provided.

Hosted by Steph Lane and the Ryba Brothers, Dalton and Beau
Join Steph Lane and the Ryba brothers, Dalton & Beau for a hands on weekend! The Ryba brothers are avid outdoorsmen, anglers, and competitive bowfisherman. Participants will spend Saturday out on the Missouri River on two boats, chasing after carp! Never been bowfishing or are you not sure how? That's okay! We will be getting in some practice and overview before we go out Saturday!

Throughout the weekend, you'll have plenty of time to learn through hands-on demonstrations. Lodging, food and equipment will be provided. Please note the event is for folks over 21 years of age.

Arrive Friday evenings for introductions, dinner and some time on the range. Saturday will be spent becoming more familiar with bowfishing, practicing the basics and working on our form. Then we'll head out on the Missouri River! The day will conclude with dinner, before enjoying the evening around the campfire. Sunday will be spent refining skills before we depart mid-day.

Grab a friend and register as space is limited! Instruction using compound bows is provided. All participants will need a valid Iowa fishing license. Purchase your license online here.  No experience necessary; all equipment provided. If you have your own equipment, please bring it! The event is $200 per person and includes food, communal lodging in two cabins at Hitchcock Nature Center, and equipment.
