Child Care Funding Opportunity Webinar

Building Bright Futures (BBF) is co-hosting a webinar with the Child Development Division (CDD) on July 9 from 1 to 2pm to discuss federal APRA funds coming into Vermont for child care, and to hear from the field about the best uses for these funds.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was passed in March, and allocates $47 million to Vermont to support child care. These funds can be spent over the next two years to stabilize the child care industry, increase reimbursement rates to child care programs, increase early childhood educator compensation, and more.

This is your opportunity to share your thoughts on how Vermont should spend these federal funds. Register here – and please share this opportunity with your friends and colleagues in the early childhood community.

Sign on to Support Universal School Meals

This past legislative session, the Senate passed S.100, which would provide Universal School Breakfasts for all students and set us on a course for full Universal Meals. That marked the first time a legislative body in the country voted in favor of universal free breakfasts – a major accomplishment!

S.100 will be taken up in the House next year, and Hunger Free Vermont is planning a summer and fall full of events to help build the grassroots energy we need to have a FULL Universal School Meals bill pass both chambers and get signed by the Governor.

Take a moment and sign Hunger Free Vermont’s supporter card to share your support for universal school meals here.
