We'll miss you, Kirk!
Kirk Fatland, our Volunteer Coordinator, has stepped down after 3 years with CSWC!  Since joining the council staff in 2016, Kirk worked tirelessly to help us achieve our mission of education, restoration, and forming community connections by recruiting and coordinating all of the amazing volunteers it takes to make our programs happen.  In one year's time, he helped the Council achieve 4,127 total volunteer hours, which was a whopping 85% increase from the previous year!
We will miss him but know that his positive attitude and spirit will help him excel in his next adventure!

Report Out
¡Explorando el Columbia Slough!
Thank you to everyone who came out to ¡Explorando! last month! We had such a great time celebrating the latinx cultures of the watershed with you all!  Over 300 community members attended despite the clouds and enjoyed an amazing lineup of performers and activities.  Our theme of 'Sin Plastico' was a success and the event was 100% plastic free.  We saw some beautiful works of art participants created on their free event tote bags!  We loved celebrating ¡Explorando! on the Slough itself at the newly developed Whitaker Ponds and we look forward to seeing you  there next year!
A special thank you to all of our partners, event sponsors, committee members, and volunteers! Your generous support made this years ¡Explorando el Columbia Slough! a great success!
