Alliance Equity Discussion – Deconstructing Holiday Myths – Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.

Join a group of peers and colleagues from the early childhood community to engage in sustained learning about anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The Alliance has established a monthly, salon-style Equity Discussion Group via Zoom, and the next session is coming up on Friday, September 17 at 1:00 pm.

In the September session we will be discussing the deconstruction of myths around Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. The session will be facilitated by Judy Dow.  Judy is an award-winning educator who specializes in sharing Indigenous knowledge with children.

VFN Funding Opportunity for Family Supports

The Vermont Family Network recently received a grant from the Vermont Department of Health’s Children with Special Health Needs program to assist families with respite and/or medically necessary costs related to their child’s diagnosis. Income-eligible families may initially request up to $600 for respite or up to $1200 for unmet medical expenses.

"We Believe in Paid Leave" Event - Aug. 29 at 3 p.m.

Join the Vermont FaMLI Coalition on Sunday, August 29 at 3:00 p.m. for “We Believe in Paid Leave – A Celebration of Vermont’s Workers, Families, Caregivers and Small Businesses.” This will be an outdoor event at Red Hen Baking Co. in Middlesex with activities for children, music, food and drink, and opportunities to lift up your voice for paid leave.

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
