The James Carmody Team at Synergy One Lending to Give 10% of Their Profits to Support Military Fams

San Diego, CA – For the remainder of 2020, The Carmody Team is partnering with Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) and donating 10% of their profits to support young military and transitioning veterans move from financial crisis to self-sufficiency. The local nonprofit provides financial counseling and financial assistance grants for service members and veterans in crisis

San Diego is home to 110,700 active duty service members and 230,000 veterans. With spousal unemployment rate at 24% unemployment rate and a 25% wage gap compared to people whose partners aren't in the services, our service members are struggling.

Each month, STEP provides $20,000 in grants to stop the loss of a basic need in conjunction with one-on-one financial counseling with STEP social workers trained in financial literacy for all service members and veterans. STEP has been doing this here in San Diego for the past 8 years, assisting 5,600 families and has improved 90% of the families’ long term finances.

“It’s a privilege to partner with The James Carmody Team. The lending group has shown a philanthropic passion for years, this generous opportunity means a lot to our military families. We value this partnership more than ever, as our military families struggle with the economic impact of COVID0-19. On behalf of our team and the many service members and veterans we have served, thank you,” says STEP CEO and Co-Founder Tony Teravainen.
