MidAmerican and Alliant Energy take over a billion dollars in yearly profit from our communities to give to billionaire shareholders like Warren Buffet. Now they’re passing the costs of a failing, fossil fuel energy system on to working families. Enough is enough! They should pay for the costs of climate-related disasters they helped create and invest into a 100% renewable future that benefits 100% of the people.
Our Congress Members can make this happen by passing the THRIVE Act, an economic recovery package of $1 trillion in yearly investments over the next decade to create and sustain 15 million good jobs that shift our economy from fossil fuels to clean energy, provide economic security for all, and repair for racist policies of the past.
While over 100 members of Congress and hundreds of union, racial justice, climate, and other groups support the bill, Iowa’s Congressional Delegation has been silent. March 31st is a national day-of-action to demonstrate mass grassroots support for the THRIVE Act.
