Beyond Calories: Count Macronutrients to Fuel Your Body

Losing weight can be tricky.

Whether it’s to shed a few unwanted pounds or improve running efficiency, striving for leaner body composition is an ongoing process for many athletes, while a few extra pounds are part of staying healthy and injury free for other runners.

Achieving the ideal physique for your lifestyle is like a fork in the road, and the weight loss GPS may guide you on an off-road journey leading to a dead end. Here’s how to find your way.

2019 Chicago Marathon Runners share why they are running.

Elizabeth Adkins & Margaret Coyle's Team

Margaret and Elizabeth have been friends for 22 years. As we approach our 30th year around the sun, we thought what better way to say goodbye to our 20s than running the 2019 Chicago Marathon (normal, right?!). We decided to take it one step further (no pun intended) and run in honor of our best friend, Missy. Missy was diagnosed with Lupus in 2010. She has been such inspiration and source of strength as she battles what she describes as an invisible disease. We hope that through running for the Lupus Society of Illinois that we will bring more awareness and support to Lupus. We love you Missy!

Thank You!
