Bodie Hills Winter Outing – Event is Full!

Join us for a fun outing as we explore the Bodie Hills. Bring your skis or snowshoes (or borrow ours) for a fun day of trekking. All ages and skill levels are welcome. We will decide as a group how far to go and we may split up depending on how far you want to go. The day begins with breakfast at the Virginia Creek Settlement (if possible under Mono county public health guidance,) and we will head off to a trailhead for snowshoeing and cross country skiing with discussions about preservation of the beautiful Bodie Hills.

When: Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022
Where: Meet at the Virginia Creek Settlement in Bridgeport at 9am
What to Bring: Water, lunch, snacks, camera, and skis or snowshoes. If you don’t have any, we will have snowshoes for you to borrow. Dress in warm clothing. We will provide details on weather conditions prior to this outing. Please let us know if you need guidance on gear or what to bring.
All events on public lands are subject to approval by their respective land management agencies, and are not guaranteed in location, number of participants, or activity until permits are finalized.
About Wendy: A native of East Tennessee, Wendy began her political work in Washington, D.C. where she participated in campaigns and lobbying efforts on behalf of Al Gore, Handgun Control and U.S. PIRG. Environment California recruited her to run their Los Angeles fundraising office, so she moved out West, became a lawyer, founded and ran a non-profit benefiting street children in India, and discovered the Eastern Sierra. As Executive Director of Friends of the Inyo, Wendy is excited to use her political, fundraising and legal expertise to continue increasing the organization’s ability to protect the Eastern Sierra’s public lands.
