State Advocacy Strategy: Abortion Rights and Access
Strategy to help state Leagues monitor the abortion and reproductive health legislative landscape, outline opportunities to mitigate harm and increase protection, and share resources for this work.
In June 2022, the US Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, overturning the constitutional right to abortion and leaving reproductive rights up to federal and state legislation. Many state legislatures have already introduced and passed legislation to restrict or protect the right and access to abortion services.
LWVUS has produced a state advocacy strategy to help state Leagues monitor the legislative landscape, outline opportunities to mitigate harm and increase protection, and share resources for this work.
