Marin County Western Monarch Butterfly Coordinated Response
Thank you for all that you do to help support and protect the Western Monarch butterfly population. This form is for individuals, organizations, businesses, and public agencies to document the actions being taken to support the butterfly population in Marin County.

Your responses will help to inform a report on Marin County's response to the Monarch population crisis so that our community can identify gaps in in our collective conservation efforts to ensure we have a coordinated regional response in place.

The methodology being applied is from the recommendations by the Xerces Foundation for Invertebrate Conservation that developed a coordinated Western Monarch, Call to Action, applying the best available science and building off of more than 30-years of community science volunteer population count data to provide a set of rapid response options that communities can implement in order to help the Western Monarch rebound from the dramatic drop in population numbers in 2019.

There are five steps that have been identified to help the Western Monarch population to recover. These steps allow for different stakeholders and individuals to identify areas that they can help. This report seeks to evaluate the response in Marin County to identify where we may need other coordinated efforts to ensure the population is properly supported. It’s an all hands-on deck moment in our lives.
