Alliant Energy requests rate increase for both gas and electric customers in Iowa
OPEN IN ABOUT THREE YEARS. HEADS UP TO ALLIANT ENERGY CUSTOMERS. YOUR ENERGY BILLS COULD BE ON THE RISE SOON. THE COMPANY SUBMITTED A REQUEST TO THE IOWA UTILITIES BOARD TO RAISE RATES FOR BOTH ELECTRIC AND GAS CUSTOMERS. IF APPROVED, ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS WOULD SEE ROUGHLY A $10 INCREASE EACH MONTH, STARTING NEXT OCTOBER, WITH ANOTHER $7 HIKE IN OCTOBER 2025. GAS CUSTOMERS WOULD SEE ABOUT A $3 A MONTH INCREASE. Alliant Energy customers may see higher energy bills in the near future.The company submitted a request to the Iowa Utilities Board to raise rates for both electric and gas customers.If approved, electric customers would see an increase of roughly $10 each month starting October 2024, with another $7 hike in October 2025.
